Lagos Launches Drone Surveillance to Enhance Crime Prevention
Lagos State Security Trust Fund has rolled out drone surveillance across key areas of the city. The technology provides 24/7 aerial monitoring to deter crime and boost rapid response. According to LSSTF CEO Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, drones now serve as “eyes in the sky”, helping security agencies detect threats early and protect residents and investors. The programme has already supported police operations, for instance tracking suspicious activity near Pan-Atlantic University that surfaced in a viral video. Recovered weapons and arrests underscore its impact. This initiative highlights the state government’s commitment to a safer environment through modern security solutions.
