Studying Hard but Your JEE Mock Scores Are Stuck? Analyse Your Mistakes

Regular study does not always lead to an immediate rise in mock-test scores. Low marks may show that the problem is not effort, but the way mistakes are handled after each test. After every mock test, sort errors into four groups: concepts you did not know, questions you understood but could not solve, calculation mistakes, and questions missed because of time. Each needs a different response, from revising fundamentals to practising similar problems under timed conditions. Avoid taking many tests without reviewing them properly. Two carefully analysed tests can be more useful than five tests where you only check the score. Keep an error notebook with the question type, the mistake you made and the correct method, then review it before your next test. Track your own progress through accuracy, speed and fewer careless errors instead of comparing marks with other students. Before increasing your study hours, identify exactly where you are losing marks and adjust your practice.
