Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has reaffirmed the state government’s support for the 2026 Ikogosi Marathon, scheduled for October 31. Organisers expect about 8,000 runners from Nigeria and abroad for the 17.5km race, which will start in Ilawe-Ekiti and finish at the Ikogosi Warm Springs Resort. The 2025 edition reportedly attracted about 5,000 participants. A total prize purse of ₦30 million will be shared among elite athletes and eligible Ekiti indigenous runners.
