Onitsha Country Club, Anambra Sports Club Reach Governor’s Cup Tennis Final

Onitsha Country Club and Anambra Sports Club, Awka, will contest the final of the inaugural Governor’s Cup Lawn Tennis Tournament in Awka. In the semi-finals, Emeka Emewulu of Onitsha Country Club beat Ugochukwu Onyia of Elite Tennis Club 6–0, 6–2. Rev. Fr. Peter Ibeazor then led Anambra Sports Club past Albert Anyaele of City Sports Club with a 6–1, 6–2 win. The final is scheduled for October 31 at the lawn tennis court of Anambra Country Club, Awka. Organisers and officials praised the players’ sportsmanship and said the venue is equipped to host more local and national sporting events.
