A newlywed couple, Rev. Abiodun David and Funmilayo Bamidele, were reportedly abducted with four other people along the Eruku-Iyemero Road in Kwara State on Saturday evening, September 26, 2026. They were said to be returning from their engagement ceremony in Eruku when the incident occurred. The vehicle was reportedly expected to use the Isanlu Road, but the driver took a back route to drop off the best man and other members of the group in Iyamoye.
