Boboye Blames Bendel Insurance’s Poor First Half for 3-0 Defeat to Abia Warriors

Bendel Insurance coach Kennedy Boboye says his side paid the price for a poor first-half display in Sunday’s 3-0 NPFL defeat to Abia Warriors. Chukwuemeka Obioma scored twice for Abia Warriors, while Etta Ikoi added the third. Boboye said Insurance failed to match their hosts’ intensity and conceded cheap goals. He also said the inclusion of former Abia Warriors players Fatai Abdullahi, Suraj Lawal and Adekunle Adeleke was based on their regular roles in the team, not their connection to the opposition. The result leaves Bendel Insurance with three away defeats this season. Boboye says they must improve on the road and target victory against Barau FC to sustain their title challenge.
