INEC Opens BVAS Storage Facility, Media Studio Ahead of Osun Governorship Poll
INEC Chairman Prof. Joash Amupitan has commissioned an INEC Decides Studio and a BVAS storage facility at the commission’s Osun State office ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship election. The studio is intended to support election communication and media interviews, while the facility will secure Bimodal Voter Accreditation System devices. The projects were initiated by Osun Resident Electoral Commissioner, Oluwatoyin Babalola. Amupitan later met electoral officers from the state’s 30 local government areas and urged them to protect public confidence through professionalism. He warned that late opening of polling units would attract consequences, while outstanding work would be rewarded. He said INEC would continue working with security agencies and other stakeholders to protect personnel and election materials, while cautioning officials against misinformation and disinformation.
