Does Marriage Require Submission or Equal Partnership?

I believe marriage needs shared structure, responsibility and mutual respect. In my view, couples function better when they agree on how decisions will be made and who provides leadership in difficult moments. I do not agree with the idea that a committed relationship can thrive without cooperation, accountability and respect for each partner. Anyone who does not want that kind of arrangement should be honest about it before marriage. However, leadership in a marriage should come with love, care and responsibility, not control or disrespect. Couples should discuss their expectations and choose a partnership that works for both people.
