Portugal Reportedly Loses Over 1 Million Instagram Followers After Ronaldo Leaves Camp

Portugal’s official Instagram account reportedly lost more than one million followers within 24 hours of Cristiano Ronaldo leaving the national team camp. Reports say the account fell from 24.9 million followers on Wednesday to 23.8 million by Thursday evening, as supporters flooded its page with messages backing Ronaldo. Ronaldo left camp after coach Jorge Jesus said the forward would not feature against Denmark. The 41-year-old said he would later explain the reasons for his departure, while stressing that he has not retired from international football. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner remains Portugal’s all-time leading scorer with 138 goals.
