Nigerian Sports Officials Meet Infantino as NFF Reform Talks Begin
A Nigerian delegation led by National Sports Commission chairman Shehu Dikko and Director-General Bukola Olopade has met FIFA President Gianni Infantino in Zurich to discuss reforms in Nigerian football. The talks followed the August 27 resignation of Ibrahim Musa Gusau and members of the Nigeria Football Federation executive board. Former NFF president Amaju Pinnick was also part of the delegation. Officials discussed the federation's leadership transition, plans to restructure Nigerian football and the need to keep any reforms in line with FIFA and CAF regulations. The NFF has also put its planned September 27 elective congress on hold pending further consultations. The next steps are expected to focus on restoring confidence in the federation and setting out a process for a new NFF administration.
