Ahmed Abdullahi Leaves Sunderland for Turkish Super Lig Club Eyüpspor

Former Flying Eagles forward Ahmed Abdullahi has joined Turkish Super Lig club Eyüpspor on a permanent deal from Sunderland. The 22-year-old signed a two-year contract with an option for an additional season. Sunderland confirmed the transfer and wished him well in Turkey. Abdullahi joined Sunderland from Belgian club Gent in August 2024 but did not make a senior appearance after an injury-hit spell. His move to Istanbul offers him a fresh chance to regain fitness and establish himself with regular first-team football.

The Turkish Super Lig is a solid opportunity, but the real story will be whether he gets regular minutes rather than just a new contract.

He should focus on settling quickly, learning the team's system, and turning consistent club performances into a stronger case for national-team consideration.
