Lagos Lawyer Seeks Laboratory Tests Over Alleged Palm Oil Adulteration

A Lagos lawyer has asked consumer-protection and food-safety agencies to investigate allegations that some palm oil sold in the state may be adulterated. He called for products to be sampled from markets, shops and distributors for laboratory testing. He said regulators should trace any unsafe products through the supply chain and recall them where testing confirms a risk. The lawyer urged LASCOPA, NAFDAC, the Lagos State Ministry of Health and other agencies to publish test results, affected locations and enforcement actions. He stressed that authorities should rely on evidence and avoid causing unnecessary public panic.
