The Trap of International Friendships: Preserving African Believers’ Identity
Kindness is a virtue every African should embrace, and Yahuwah’s lovingkindness guides us. Yet when we seek close ties with international friends, we risk losing our God-given purpose and identity. As biblical Israelites or descendants of Ham, we are called to honour Yeshua by keeping the Commandments, Laws, Statutes, and Precepts given through Moses. Our role includes reminding the world of the Messiah and the judgment to come, and serving as trusted helpers in declaring God’s truth. The ideology that “everyone is equal” and that race does not matter may sound noble, but it pressures us to reject our Black Messiah identity and the lifestyle laws of Moses so that our friends remain comfortable. Labelled as “extremists” when we live out biblical truth, we end up hiding our history and avoiding the work of opening eyes to oppression. True fellowship demands more than friendliness. We must choose Yahuwah’s Kingdom over the systems of the oppressor nations. Will our international friends stand with us in exposing injustice and upholding God’s sovereignty? Proverbs 3:31 warns, “Envy not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways.” In which Kingdom will you walk?
