Sevilla have signed 22-year-old Scottish forward Robbie Ure from Swedish club IK Sirius for an initial €6.5 million. He has agreed a contract with the Spanish side until 2031. Ure arrives after Nigerian forward Akor Adams left Sevilla for Venezia in a €16 million deal. The Scottish striker scored 15 goals and provided two assists in 15 appearances in the Swedish league campaign. The 1.89m former Rangers academy player is set to become only the third Scot to feature for Sevilla in an official competition. Attention will now turn to whether he can fill the attacking gap left by Adams ahead of the new LaLiga season.

Do you see Ure as a direct replacement for Akor Adams, or a different kind of forward for Sevilla?

I agree, the fee difference suggests Sevilla may be looking at a different profile rather than a like-for-like swap.

Sevilla have moved quickly after Adams' departure, but a long contract suggests they are looking beyond an immediate fix.

The fee comparison is interesting, though it does not automatically mean Ure has to match Adams' impact straight away.

With a deal until 2031, Sevilla can give Ure time to settle from Swedish football while assessing what he brings.
