Ondo Advocate Seeks Traditional Religion Affairs Office in Aiyedatiwa’s Government
A community advocate has asked Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to create a government office for Traditional Religion and Cultural Affairs. The request followed recent appointments for Christian and Islamic religious affairs. He argued that traditional religion also deserves formal representation in the state’s governance structure. He said indigenous beliefs are closely linked to Yoruba history, festivals, language, arts, traditional institutions and community identity. According to him, the proposal is about inclusion and cultural recognition, not giving one religion priority over another.
