Ilenikhena and Usor Score on Debut as Super Eagles Beat Madagascar 2-1

Nigeria began their AFCON 2027 qualifying campaign with a 2-1 comeback win over Madagascar in Uyo. George Ilenikhena and Moses Usor scored on their Super Eagles debuts after Madagascar took an early lead. Ehsan Khari put the visitors ahead in the 16th minute, heading in Ryan Ponti's cross. Ilenikhena, starting in place of the injured Victor Osimhen, equalised before half-time after Alex Iwobi played him through on goal. Usor came off the bench to score the winner in the 65th minute with a deflected effort from outside the box. Nigeria now lead their group and will face Guinea-Bissau in their next qualifier.
