300-Level Student Shot Dead in Suspected Herdsmen Ambush in Plateau
On Monday night, April 6, gunmen believed to be Fulani herdsmen ambushed Dum Village in Bachi District, Riyom LGA of Plateau State. During the attack, Badung Sunday, 29 and a 300-level student at the Federal University of Education, Pankshin, was killed. He was his mother’s only child and considered a promising scholar. Another young man, Dachomo Habila, was wounded but survived. In a statement on April 7, the Berom Youth Moulders Association condemned the “calculated and barbaric” assault and urged security agencies to investigate swiftly. The group called for increased protection for vulnerable communities and extended condolences to the family of the deceased and prayers for the injured.
