Netanyahu Warns Hamas Could Seek to Influence Israel’s Elections
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says Hamas may use its remaining capacity to challenge Israel and attempt to influence the country’s upcoming elections. Speaking ahead of the third anniversary of the October 7 attack, Netanyahu said Israel would prevent any such attempt and respond forcefully to further attacks. He also said Israel had killed 4,000 of the 6,000 Hamas fighters it says took part in the attack. Netanyahu vowed to continue pursuing those involved and to end Hamas rule in Gaza. The prime minister said most residents of communities near the Gaza border had returned home as reconstruction continues.
