The interest of the Igbos in Nigeria is paramount at the moment and a collective project by all and sundry. The Support Igbo For President (SIP) group has commended the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State who earlier today informed President Muhammadu Buhari of his interest to succeed him in office come 2023. The group which spoke through the Convener and National Leader, Comrade Uloka Chukwubuikem said the visit is timely and efficient for the interest of the ndi Igbo in Nigeria. Uloka lauded the bold step of the Governor and equally called on other powerful Igbos to toe same path in their respective political parties, noting that President of Igbo extraction is non- negotiable come 2023. “We have played the supportive role for too long, the time now is for other regions to support an Igbo man to have a fair amount of the Nation’s leadership and contribute to her development by steering the wheels.” After eight years of President Muhammadu Buhari, equity and equality demands that Igbos anywhere in Nigeria should be supported to Produce the next President of Nigeria since the West have had their share of eight ( years through Olusengun Obasanjo leaving the Igbos as the only region without a President of the country since the inception of the fourth republic. We call on other Igbos in the APC to be bold about their intentions and not be intimidated. They should emulate Governor Umahi and make their interest known to the President and the Masses. The group also called other powerful Igbos who are not interested to Run for the office of the President to start mobilizing support and lobby their contacts to ensure that 2023 becomes a reality. “We will support Dave Umahi and many other Igbos who have interest in the Presidency, they are all our project. Umahi has shown he is passionate about the Igbo project; he had equally done very well as Governor and leader in the South East. He is amongst our first eleven and we will support him and others to emerge.”
