NANS Seeks Probe Into Death of Ex-AKSU SUG President at Enugu NYSC Camp
The National Association of Nigerian Students has called for an investigation into the death of Etimbuk Daniel, the immediate past SUG president of Akwa Ibom State University, at the NYSC orientation camp in Enugu State. NANS alleged that Daniel complained of a headache and was given medication at the camp. It said his condition later worsened, and a delay in approving his transfer to a hospital may have prevented him from receiving urgent care. The association also raised an unverified claim that the medication may have been counterfeit. It urged authorities to establish the facts, review medical procedures at the camp and ensure accountability if any failure is found. The allegations have not been independently verified. NANS extended condolences to Daniel’s family, friends and the AKSU community.
