US Lawmaker Pledges Close Oversight of Nigeria’s 2027 Elections

In a recent interview on NoireTV, US Congressman Riley Moore said the Trump administration will watch Nigeria’s 2027 general elections closely. Moore, a Republican from West Virginia, said Washington will pay “very close attention” to how the polls unfold and will monitor the results. He noted that the US House is considering an appropriations bill with provisions on Nigeria’s religious freedom and security assistance. According to Moore, the proposed legislation contains strong language on the US–Nigeria relationship and has bipartisan support.
