Ghanaian Farmer Jailed 10 Years for Defiling 13-Year-Old Stepdaughter

A Bekwai Circuit Court in Ghana has sentenced a 38-year-old farmer to 10 years' imprisonment with hard labour for defiling his 13-year-old stepdaughter. The offence occurred in December 2024 in Afoako, near Bekwai. The victim's mother reported the case to the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit after learning about it. The victim later underwent a medical examination, with the report submitted as evidence. The convict reportedly fled after being confronted but was arrested in Ntotroso, Ahafo Region, on January 8, 2026. Investigators said he admitted to the offence in a caution statement before he was charged and convicted.
