Empowering Local Community Police to Solve Nigeria’s Security Crisis
Most Nigerians don’t care about insecurity until it affects their family. Politicians just shout ‘Tinubu’ instead of using common sense. Local governments and states do almost nothing while bandits spread. In my childhood, communities formed vigilantes to fight kidnappers and robbers. Now, that system is gone. We should rebuild local structures. Train and equip community police and vigilantes with weapons, tear gas and resources. Fund state police and DSS properly. Let federal forces focus on major threats. With local accountability, we can restore safety.
