Amaechi Says Tinubu’s Economic Policies Worsened His Mother’s Health Before Her Death
Former Rivers State governor Rotimi Amaechi says the economic hardship linked to the Tinubu administration’s policies made it difficult for his family to afford medication for his late mother, Madam Mary Amaechi. Speaking during a television interview, Amaechi said his mother was healthy before the administration took office but that rising costs, including the effects of fuel subsidy removal, made drugs harder to buy. She died in July at the age of 89. Amaechi questioned how proceeds from subsidy removal have been used and said many Nigerians have suffered losses amid the current economic conditions.
