Nigerians Report Long Delays at UK Passport Intervention Centres
Nigerians seeking passport services at the newly opened intervention centres in London and Manchester have reported being left waiting for hours without being attended to. The exercise is scheduled to run simultaneously in both cities from September 7 to 19, 2026. A resident in Manchester said people who arrived from 9:00 a.m. were still waiting by 11:30 a.m. Applicants criticised the apparent lack of planning and urged the Nigeria Immigration Service to provide clearer communication, better organisation and more efficient service for Nigerians who travelled long distances and took time off work.
