Simple Ways to Remove Grease and Sticky Marks From Your Kitchen
Keep your kitchen fresh with a few everyday items. Washing-up liquid and warm water work well for worktops, cupboard handles, sinks and other daily messes. For dried stains, make a light paste with bicarbonate of soda and water, then rinse thoroughly after gentle cleaning. White vinegar diluted with water can help lift grease from suitable splashbacks and cupboard doors. Do not mix vinegar with bleach or other cleaners, and avoid using it on marble, limestone or other acid-sensitive surfaces. For microwave splashes, heat lemon and water in a microwave-safe bowl until steamy, allow it to cool slightly, then wipe the interior clean. Clean spills as they happen, empty food waste regularly and dry damp cloths after use. Always test any cleaning method on a hidden area first, especially on painted, wooden or laminated surfaces. Cleaning removes dirt, while sanitising may still be needed after handling raw meat or contamination.
