Senegal Rejects AFCON 2025 Ruling, to Appeal at CAS

Senegal Rejects AFCON 2025 Ruling, to Appeal at CAS

The Senegalese Football Federation has formally rejected the Confederation of African Football’s Appeal Board decision that awarded Morocco a 3–0 win by forfeit in the AFCON 2025 final. CAF ruled that Senegal’s walk-off in Rabat on January 19 violated Articles 82 and 84 of the competition regulations. Senegal says the Appeal Board overturned the initial disciplinary ruling on procedural grounds, then found the team guilty of misconduct. The federation calls the decision “unfair, unprecedented and damaging” to African football’s credibility. To defend its rights, Senegal will file an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne. The FSF affirms its commitment to integrity and will keep the public informed as the case unfolds.
