NNPC Reports ₦7.2tn Profit for 2025 Despite Lower Crude Prices
NNPC Limited says its profit after tax rose by 33% from ₦5.4tn in 2024 to ₦7.2tn in 2025, despite lower crude oil prices and reduced product volumes following changes in the domestic petroleum market. The company reported revenue of ₦34.5tn and earnings per share of ₦35.90. It also said taxes, royalties and other remittances to the Federal Government increased by 39% to ₦22.3tn. NNPC attributed the stronger profit to improved operations and financial discipline. Crude oil and condensate output peaked at 1.77 million barrels per day, a five-year high, while gas supply reached 7.2 billion standard cubic feet per day, the highest level in three years. The company said the performance should improve its ability to invest, support public revenue and strengthen Nigeria's energy security, although it did not provide a segment-by-segment breakdown of the profit growth.
