Barcelona Close to Re-Signing João Cancelo From Al-Hilal
Barcelona are reportedly close to re-signing João Cancelo after the Portuguese full-back opened talks to terminate his contract with Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal. Al-Hilal had demanded about €10 million for Cancelo, a fee Barcelona found difficult to meet because of their financial fair-play limits. A mutual termination would allow Barcelona to sign him as a free agent and focus on registering his salary. Cancelo wants to return to Catalonia after a productive loan spell in the second half of the 2025/26 season. He made 16 La Liga appearances, scoring twice and providing two assists, while playing on either flank.
