Port Harcourt School Proprietress Arraigned for Assaulting 16-Year-Old Student
The Rumuepirikom Police Division arraigned Mrs. Orjiugo Udeala, proprietress of Phronesis Nursery, Primary and Secondary School along NTA Road, Rumokwuta, for allegedly assaulting a 16-year-old male student. Court papers included photographs of the injuries. She faces two counts: conspiracy to commit assault occasioning harm under Section 516(A) of the Rivers State Criminal Code, and unlawfully assaulting the student by flogging him with a cane and striking him on the ear and head, an offence under Section 355. Udeala pleaded not guilty. Magistrate Charles Wobisike Akpeh granted her bail of ₦100,000 with one surety in like sum, who must reside within the court’s jurisdiction. The case was adjourned to August 10, 2026, for further hearing.
