Why I Believe Christians Should Not Worship Orishas or Other Deities

I believe worship should be directed to Almighty God alone through Jesus Christ, as taught in John 3:16 and John 14:6. In my view, worshipping or making sacrifices to orishas, idols, shrines or other deities conflicts with Christian teaching. Being kind or generous does not, in my belief, replace repentance and obedience to God. I encourage anyone who shares the Christian faith to turn away from practices they consider idolatry, accept Jesus Christ, and live by the fruits of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22–23. Others may disagree, but this is my conviction.
