Three Arrested Over Brains Minds School Teacher’s Killing in Kogi
The Kogi State Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with the fatal assault of a teacher at Brains Minds Nursery and Primary School in Ugbamaka, Olamaboro LGA. Mariam Usman suffered two separate attacks and later died from her injuries on 25 June 2026. Police investigations show that on 17 June, Abdullahi Isiaka assaulted the teacher at her home after she disciplined his son. Later that day, Ramatu Isiaka Eleojo attacked her again while she was en route to prayers. The next day, Ojonojima Mary carried out a third assault on school premises. After initial treatment at two local clinics, Usman’s injuries proved fatal. The suspects face charges of criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide and will soon be arraigned in court. The Commissioner of Police commended the diligence of the homicide detectives and urged residents to support law enforcement with credible information rather than taking justice into their own hands.
