Nigerian Law Students Apologise and Remove Viral Dance Video After Backlash
A group of Nigerian law students has apologised after a viral video of them dancing in court-style attire drew criticism online. In a follow-up video, they said they had removed the clip and accepted responsibility for the backlash. They maintained that they did not intend to mock the legal profession or suggest that young lawyers are unfit to represent clients. The students apologised to the public, the Council of Legal Education, their faculty’s disciplinary body and other relevant authorities. They said they respect the profession and their lecturers’ efforts to instil strong values in them.
