After a Day of Zero Sales, I Questioned Everything About My Hustle
People talk about addiction to gambling, drugs and other habits, but few talk about being unable to stop hustling or investing. In Nigeria, what should be a strength can start to feel like a curse when effort keeps bringing pain instead of progress. I woke up around 3 a.m., left home by 4 a.m. and trekked to the park because there were no bikes available. I travelled to Ajah from Ijebu-Ode to sell my gym wear, but after standing for almost four hours, nobody bought anything. People bought food from other traders, while some checked my clothes and walked away. I packed everything in shame, went aside to cry, and used my remaining money on an egg roll and a drink before travelling back. I trekked home under the sun. For the first time, I questioned God and wondered why failure seems to follow my efforts. I do not want to quit, but I am exhausted. To make matters worse, I borrowed money to bet on Arsenal to beat Brighton.
