Gullit Urges Manchester United to Show Patience With Carrick
Ruud Gullit has urged Manchester United to remain patient with manager Michael Carrick after the club’s five-match winless run. United’s struggles continued with a 2-0 Champions League defeat to Atletico Madrid. Carrick said the players were hurting, while reports of frustration within the squad have added to the pressure at Old Trafford. Gullit believes the club’s problems extend beyond the manager. He said poor recruitment over the past five or six years has left United behind rivals such as Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City.
