Is IQ Shaped More by Life Experience Than DNA? A Spiritual Perspective

I argue that IQ is shaped more by environment, education, curiosity and lived experience than by DNA alone. Access to books, schools, media, the internet and other learning opportunities can strongly affect how people perform in intelligence tests. I also believe IQ tests may reflect the experiences of the people who design them. An urban-focused test may favour urban knowledge, while a test designed around nomadic life could reward skills such as reading natural signs, recognising plants and navigating the environment. From my spiritual perspective, personality and intelligence are also connected to past incarnations, the maturity of the spirit and empathy. I believe people may draw on knowledge and abilities developed in previous lives, rather than inheriting intelligence solely through genetics. This is a personal spiritual view. Scientific research generally finds that both genetics and environment can influence cognitive ability.
