Blackburn Rovers Forward Dapo Afolayan Wants Super Eagles Call-Up
Blackburn Rovers forward Dapo Afolayan says he wants to represent Nigeria at senior level. The 29-year-old, who was born in London to Nigerian parents, remains eligible for the Super Eagles despite previously appearing for England C. Afolayan said he has long hoped to play for Nigeria and was close to a call-up while playing in Germany. He joined Blackburn Rovers from FC St. Pauli in January 2026 and has recorded three goals and two assists in eight league appearances this season. His early form at Ewood Park could put him back in contention if the Super Eagles technical crew decide to look his way.
