Nigeria’s Super Eagles will face Russia in an international friendly at the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. The match comes one week after Nigeria’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying game against Guinea-Bissau in Bissau on September 29. Eric Chelle’s side will open their qualifying campaign against Madagascar at home on September 25. Nigeria and Russia last met in a friendly in Moscow in June 2025, playing out a 1-1 draw. Semi Ajayi’s own goal gave Russia the lead before Tolu Arokodare equalised for the Super Eagles in the second half. The Super Eagles are ranked 26th in the world, while Russia are 35th in the latest FIFA rankings.
