Warri Wolves coach Hassan Abdallah says defensive mistakes and inexperience cost his side in their 2-1 NPFL opening-day loss to Bendel Insurance in Benin City. Towo Eventus gave Warri Wolves an early lead after four minutes. Kayode Oke Solomon equalised in the 20th minute before Alex Oweiyalefa scored the decisive goal shortly after the second half began. Abdallah defended his youthful line-up, saying modern football demands energy, speed and quick movement. He said the team created chances but must improve its finishing and central defence. The coach added that experienced players will gradually be introduced as Warri Wolves prepare to face reigning champions Rangers in their next fixture.
