One Dead, Three Rescued After Building Under Construction Collapses in Lagos

One person has died and three others have been rescued after a two-storey building under construction collapsed in the Fadeyi area of Lagos. The collapse occurred early Friday on Akinola Street, near Fadeyi Bus Stop off Ikorodu Road. Construction workers were believed to have been trapped beneath the rubble. Emergency officials said rescuers heard sounds from under the debris and deployed equipment for the operation. The injured survivors received medical attention before being taken to hospital, while search efforts continued to determine whether more people were trapped. The cause of the collapse has not been confirmed. Relevant building-control authorities are expected to investigate the incident.
