Flamingos’ World Cup Final: A Chance to Make History and Inspire Nigerian Girls
Nigeria’s Flamingos face Japan in the Under-17 World Cup final in Casablanca. A victory would make them the first African champions at this level and give a major boost to girls’ sports in Nigeria. I believe the team has what it takes to win and inspire the next generation of athletes. My experience working with female athletes has shown me their determination, discipline and fighting spirit. From Chioma Ajunwa to Asisat Oshoala and Tobi Amusan, Nigerian women have repeatedly shown what they can achieve when given the right support. I believe stronger leadership, facilities and opportunities can help Nigerian women reach the top of world sport. Good luck to the Flamingos as they carry the nation’s hopes into the final.
