Nigerian Navy Foils Kidnappers, Rescues Abducted Man in Bonny
The Nigerian Navy has rescued Mr Benedict Eze after kidnappers abandoned him amid intensified operations in Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State. The victim, abducted on 23 March in Aganya Community, was located at Coconut Jetty by naval personnel. Navy Captain AA Folorunsho said in a statement on April 3, 2026, that intelligence-led patrols, technological support and coordinated land and maritime actions forced the kidnappers to flee. Mr Eze was then evacuated to the Naval Base medical facility for evaluation before being reunited with his family. The operation highlights the Navy’s resolve to deny criminal elements freedom of movement in the Port Harcourt waterways and adjoining creeks. It also reflects the Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral Idi Abbas’s directive to intensify efforts against maritime crime.
