US Official Urges Nigeria to Protect Christian Communities and Facilitate IDP Returns

US Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Frank Garcia visited Abuja to press Nigeria’s leaders on strengthening security for Christian communities and ensuring the safe return of internally displaced persons. He praised progress under the U.S.-Nigeria Joint Working Group but highlighted the need for greater resources and commitment to curb violent attacks and support IDP resettlement.
