Irri Kingdom Announces Funeral Plans for Chief Samuel Oniko
Irri Kingdom in Delta State will hold a three-day funeral for Chief Samuel Onomeruoja Oreziferuo Oniko, the late Osogba of Irri Kingdom, from October 30 to November 1, 2026. Chief Oniko died on May 2, 2026, aged 84. A service of songs and night of tributes will hold at Paro Farms Estate, Idheze Road, Irri Town, from 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 30. The funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 31, at Omo-Ode Primary School Field Ground in Irri, Isoko South LGA. He will be buried at his family compound after the service, followed by a reception at the school field. Activities will end with an outing and thanksgiving service at St. Gabriel Anglican Church, Irri, at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 1. The late chief was remembered as a community leader, financial expert and contributor to the development of Irri Kingdom. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
