Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso says Moises Caicedo may have returned from injury too soon before missing the Blues’ 2-1 Premier League defeat to Arsenal. Caicedo was forced off early in Chelsea’s previous match against Brighton and did not travel for the London derby at the Emirates Stadium. Romeo Lavia and Reece James filled in during his absence. Alonso said the club is assessing the risk carefully and does not want to repeat the mistake of rushing the Ecuadorian midfielder back. Caicedo is also expected to miss Chelsea’s League Cup match against Leeds United.
