Arsenal’s £55m Bid for Bruno Guimaraes Rejected by Newcastle

Reports say Arsenal have held talks with Newcastle over a £55 million offer for midfielder Bruno Guimaraes. The Premier League champions want to strengthen their midfield ahead of the title defence. They see the Brazil international as someone who could complement or even replace Declan Rice. Newcastle are said to have turned down the initial bid. Guimaraes joined Newcastle from Lyon in 2022 for an initial £35 million. He has two years left on his contract and has made 195 appearances, scoring 31 goals.
