On Saturday, June 27, 2026, the Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People (MOSOP) convened an Ogoni National Congress at the Peace and Freedom Centre in Bori, Rivers State. The gathering included community leaders, traditional rulers, youth groups, women’s organizations, students, politicians and professionals from across Ogoniland. In a joint communiqué, delegates welcomed the federal government’s dialogue through the Ogoni Dialogue Committee. They urged transparent implementation of any agreements and called for peaceful resolution of all conflicts.
