Authorities later investigated her for operating a so-called pill mill. She pleaded guilty in 2009 and faced up to 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine. Her story is featured in a recent Netflix documentary series. Despite the scandal, her estimated net worth today stands at around $1.5 million.
