Lagos Woman Alleges Police Involvement in Family Property Dispute and Home Demolition
Mojisola Omotayo-Ojo alleges that a dispute over her late father’s property has put her and her elderly mother at risk. She says relatives acting as estate administrators sold assets, withheld proceeds and accused her of wrongdoing after she collected rent for repairs on the property. She further alleges that eviction proceedings at the Ogba Magistrate Court described her and her mother as unknown tenants without proper notice. According to her account, the matter is now before the Ikeja High Court on appeal. The petitioner also alleges that, despite previous police and DSS interventions describing the dispute as civil, police officers and other individuals supported the demolition of part of her home on August 1, 2026. She is asking the Lagos State Government, police authorities, DSS and the state Attorney General to investigate the allegations and ensure her safety. These are allegations by the petitioner and should be independently verified by the relevant authorities and parties involved.
