Six suspected gunmen were killed during a joint security operation in Amiyi, Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State. One security operative was also killed, while another was injured after an explosive device detonated. Police said personnel from the Rapid Response Squad, DSS, Nigerian Army, Navy and the Agụnechemba security outfit trekked for about four hours through dense forest to reach the suspected camps. The team reportedly came under fire, leading to a prolonged gun battle. Two pump-action guns and charms were recovered, while the camps and facilities allegedly used by the group were dismantled.
